G4 Network – “The Screen Savers”
Technology, “Bluetooth World Record Hack”

Producer / Videographer / Editor

This is the piece that accidentally created the program, From the Shadows. I brought together Kevin Rose and John Hering/James Burgess/Kevin Mahaffey(The Flexilis Crew) to break the world record for Bluetooth connection range. Can they achieve a connection to a Bluetooth phone from over 1 MILE away!?! How about hack into that phone? You’ll find out. After the filming, Flexilis and I thought doing more tech segments like that would be fun. From the Shadows is the result.

Listen to Hear
Creator / Producer / Videographer / Editor

"Listen to Hear" confronts these accusations concerning the dangers in the decibel levels of Mp3 players and portable devices. We visit an Audiologist, and test for the exact decibel level in top selling Mp3 players, the Sony PSP, and the Nintendo DS. We also interview a lawyer concerning the legalities and liabilities. This is not an "iPod is bad story." This piece uses science and technology to document how long, and how loud you can listen to these devices until permanent hearing loss occurs. What liabilities and/or legalities do manufacturers have to tell people of potential dangers. This is the episode that launched Not Mainstream Typical Videos, and was picked up by Geraldo and Fox Network.

NOTE: One month after the release of this episode, Apple changed the software in the iPod, allowing the user to limit the volume.
